Ed Glinert
Founder of City Life, former staff writer for Private Eye and one-time production editor of the rock ‘n’ roll magazine Mojo, Ed is also a celebrated author whose recent Manchester Compendium was described by the Independent newspaper as a ‘superb work of in-depth research and dry Northern wit’. This irked Ed a little for he hails from London, Dalston no less, though he has lived in Manchester for 33 years. Ed devised the New Manchester Walks titles and descriptions.
Sue Grimditch
Salford-born Sue has the cv of a supreme bonne vivante. She has PR’ed for Peter Stringfellow, DJ’ed on the Costa Brava, croupiered at Manchester’s Playboy Club and run her own restaurant where she once cooked for Dire Straits and their people – all 45 of them. She is also the most qualified of the NMW guides: a Fellow of the Institute of Travel and Tourism and a London Blue Badge guide. She now cannot wait to show you around revitalised, regenerated and re-energised Manchester and Salford.
Steve Bourne
Steve Bourne has decades of experience in the travel industry and has worked on five continents. He hails from that most southern of northern outposts, Wilmslow, which holds him in good stead for the tours of the Airport he regularly takes for school groups. Steve is the most popular New Manchester Walks’ guide: none of us have had letters in the Manchester Evening News swooning over our tours. His pub walks are legendary and longer-lasting than the aftertaste of a pint of Chester’s mild.
